Let's just say, sheep really know how to dress themselves.
As you discover the world of wool, you’ll soon understand why there is such an enthusiastic love for the fibre. It’s a bit of a magic material. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic, insulating, temperature regulating, moisture wicking, odour resistant and biodegradable. Let's just say, sheep really know how to dress themselves.
A sheep's wool is highly adaptive and grows differently according to climate. We collect our wool from sheep and goats who grow up in sunnier regions, meaning their wool grows long and fine. These ideal characteristics translate into a luxuriously soft material and are woven into the blankets and scarves you know and love. We’re proud of all the hands that go into making our products and have chosento partner with the mills and family farms who best reflect our values. Sustainability for all - people and the planet. We love to share the wool journey, from sheep to weaving to how it ends up in your home!
Recycled wool is made from 100% recycled fibres and turns preloved into reloved. At least 70% is woven from recycled wool, like preloved jumpers, and the remaining percentage comes from man made recycled fibres that would otherwise end up in landfill, like preloved polyester shirts. Combining the wool threads with these recycled synthetic fibres adds length and strength to the yarn. While most wool shrinks or bobbles in the wash, the combination of synthetic fibres allows our twill weave to be dense enough for machine washing on 30 degrees or less and still maintain its shape!
Lambswoolis the highest quality sheep’s wool. It’s gathered from a lamb’s first shearing, meaning the fibres are smoother, stronger and hold more elasticity than any other wool. The unique crimps in the individual strands generate air pockets that retain heat while repelling moisture, keeping you warm when you’re cool, and cool when you’re warm. Along with being a naturally insulating, breathable and hypoallergenic textile, it’s beautifully soft.
A luxurious and silky soft answer for keeping warm, our cashmere is woven from the super fine coat of the Mongolian cashmere goat. Their hair is used to create some of the world’s most valuable garments and is famous for its natural insulating properties. Separated from the goat’s protective outer layer, the downy wool fibres are sorted by hand. Cashmere is finer, stronger, lighter, softer and approximately three times more insulating than sheep's wool!
